CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A report from the Division of Motor Vehicles has found that the number of vehicles filing safety inspections in North Carolina tripled last year.
DMV Commissioner Mike Robertson told The Charlotte Observer (http://bit.ly/wLjR2c ) that he thinks the increase happened because his agency began cracking down on garages that pass vehicles shortly after they fail at another shop. Bullshit
About 1.2 million vehicles failed inspection in 2011. That's about 15 percent of the vehicles registered with the state. The DMV reported about 400,000 failed inspections in 2010. A 300% increase in one year???
The DMV says the most common reasons for failing inspection are faulty windshield wipers, stoplights, license plate lights and tires. Again, bullshit.
A spokesman for Gov. Beverly Perdue says she will review the report amid suggestions that state should abolish inspections or limit them to older vehicles.
Sick of the Status Quo

Pissed posed the question: Who is Barack Obama?
And:
Arpaio investigates Obama's birth certificate
Apparently, our pResident is a fraud, a usurper and a criminal. Also apparent is that no one in this country cares at all.

I was thinking about the elected asses in DC
One thought led to another and now this is what I'm stuck on:
Damned shame, isn't it? Of course, it could be worse........

Sounds like an easy fix to me
From the emails:
The Radical Homosexual Lobby is attacking real marriage on every front.
Let me warn you, this story goes beyond an outrage.
A Texas judge and radical homosexual activist is refusing to perform any real marriage ceremonies in her court until she gets her way.
That’s right. Judge Tonya Parker said that if she can’t marry a woman, then no one else should marry either.
She is sending away every traditional couple who comes into her court with the order to embrace homosexual “marriage” as sacred.
She is trying to force Texans to accept homosexual “marriage” using the authority of the bench.
All this despite having been elected to a public position in a state which does not allow homosexual “marriage.”
It is particularly horrifying for judge to so openly defy the law of the land.
This is a clear dereliction of her responsibilities and an insult to pro-Family Americans and the very institution of marriage.
And what’s worse, it’s a perversion of her role as a keeper of the law.
Every judge is charged with upholding the laws passed by the legislators and the voters. But Judge Parker is trying to subvert the laws and force homosexual “marriage” into Texas just because she wants it.
Marriage truly is being attacked from all sides.
With two more states added to the homosexual “marriage” cabal -- they almost got a third state -- and with California’s Proposition 8 being attacked by judges...
...my friend, it looks dark.
They will do just about anything to take this decision out of the hands of the American people.
The radical homosexuals know that they cannot pass their perverted agenda by vote, so they resort to activist courts and aggressive legislators.
And I hate to say it, but Public Advocate is the only group in America who is challenging them on every issue; who is fighting to defend the Family every time its attacked.
It is up to you and me.
We have to show the minions of the Homosexual Lobby, like Judge Parker, that we will not bow down to their agenda.
For the Family,

Eugene Delgaudio
President, Public Advocate of the United States
Regardless of sexual orientation, this "woman" was hired to do a job. If "she" refuses to do the job she was hired for, fire her sorry ass. She wasn't hired to uphold some of the law, or just the parts of the law she agreed with but all the fucking law. If she can't or won't uphold her end of the deal, fire her for dereliction of duty. End of story.

Soooo, lemme get this right.....
If Limbaugh, Beck, or Breitbart (may he rest in peace) said it, it's bad. But if Maher, Schultz or Sharpton said it, it's a-ok, right?
Apparently that's how Jackson Lee and Schakowsky feel.
To paraphrase: It appears their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Update: Found this at Irish's place, thought it might fit nicely here.

I call bullshit
I just happen to have a little experience on this one. We've got three vehicles, a 1983 Ford F-100, a 1996 Nissan Maxima and a 2010 Ford Focus. Went to get the truck and the Nissan inspected a few weeks ago, because the truck is older than sand it didn't need to put be on a computer for inspection. As long as all the lights, turn signals and horn works it's out the door.
The Nissan has been a different story. We take it to the shop, they hook it up to the computer and it prints out an O2 sensor error. No problem, I spend the $180 on two new sensors, replace them and take it back. Now the computer gives us an unspecified transmission error, EGR error, catalyst error, and evaporator error. The wife spends almost 8 hours at the shop trying to figure out what's wrong. They finally pinpoint a neutral safety switch in the MANUAL TRANSMISSION that's spitting out all these errors.
We take it to another shop for a second opinion. Because the car was wrecked and rebuilt before we bought it, the headlights are slightly pushed in although perfectly aligned. The first thing the guy tells us is the car isn't going to pass because of that. We tell him that it's passed just like that for the previous 4 years and he tells us it makes no difference because they're cracking down on everything on the older cars.
Sounds to me like our government is nitpicking every little thing to try and get older vehicles off the road and force us into buying a new Government Motors car or truck that runs on algae and unicorn farts and leprechaun laughs. That scheme didn't work so well with the Cash For Clunkers program, and it sure as hell isn't going to work by refusing to inspect them. It's going to cost me another $180 for the switch and labor to get that fixed, and if they won't inspect it because the headlights aren't exactly where they're supposed to be, even though THEY ARE PERFECTLY ALIGNED, I will drive the car anyways and when I get a ticket I am taking the entire state of North Carolina to court. Once again, I am getting sick and tired of our government trying to tell us what kind of toilets we can shit on, what kind of shower heads we can wash our asses with, what kind of light bulbs we can light our homes with, what kind of vehicles we can drive, whether we should purchase insurance or not, or whether our insurance providers should provide contraception and abortions to a bunch of women who can't keep their slut legs shut.

Actions have consequences
Just ask Carbonite.
Investors Flee Carbonite After Limbaugh Announcement
That's funny, I don't care who you are.
Speaking of consequences, which ones do you think Ms. Fluke will suffer when the rest of the country finds out that women can get the pill for about $9 a month, or $108 a year, at the Target 3 miles from Georgetown rather than the utterly ridiculous $1,000 a year she claims?
Yeah, I know. Stupid question.

Here we go again
I've been using the Opera browser exclusively up til now, started having problems uploading pics so I switched back to Firefox. For some reason, with FF I can't comment on my own posts or reply to comments. If you leave a comment and I don't reply please don't feel snubbed. I'll work around this and it'll be business as usual in no time flat.
I did forget to mention
I went back to work last week. Only worked two days but dear God it was heaven. After being out for six weeks with nothing to do but piddle around the house, cook, clean, drink beer and blog, doing some real work for a change was just what I needed. This week we jumped back up to 40 hours and may be going to 48 hours soon. I'm tired as hell right now but happier than a pig in shit!
Well, I'm back
I have no clue why, but from Thursday to last night I have been as ill as a hornet. Ready to fight at the drop of a hat, yelling at the wife, I was so mad I'd fart and turn around and start kicking at it. Then, something broke and now I'm fine. My time of the month or something, I don't know. Anyways, I ran across this when I got home from work:
Which kinda made me think of this:
Which put me in mind of this:
Which for some reason made me think of this........

For some reason
A little grumpy tonight (as evidenced by my last few posts). May have something to do with the fact I had to fix two laptops and a wireless router today, which I hate working on. So I'm going to mellow out with.........
Yup, much better now.

Things have finally gotten that bad
My wife, whom I love so very much, pays absolutely no attention whatsoever to politics. Local, national or global, it makes no difference to her. She prefers General Hospital, Extreme Makeover or whatever tripe LMN is playing at the moment. Imagine my surprise this evening when she comes out of nowhere with "I don't know what's going to happen between Israel and Iran". I didn't even know she was aware there was an Israel and Iran on this planet. It has finally got to the point when people that don't really care about the subject are starting to pay attention. Of course, when I start mentioning things like Mubarak, Ahmadinejad or Netanyahu her eyes start glazing over. But it's a start.
Sometimes, the comments are better than the article
Fayetteville Waffle House shot up
Of course, with a headline like that, you just know hilarity will ensue.
Quick update: A few of the comments may seem a little confusing to those not in NC. For some odd reason, the Fayette-Nam (yeah, it's so bad there that's the un-official city name) city council decided to suspend vehicle consent searches. Because law enforcement officers were targeting the people for the searches that were actually committing the crimes. No shit.
Council members say citizen complaints of racial profiling by officers on the street led to the vote.
What? Are you kidding me? The very ones committing the crimes complain to the city council because their activities draw the attention of police, and the council binds the hands of the law??? Fuck, why the hell am I thinking about going back to work? I could just chill at the crib, pimp ho's, slang caine and cap muthafuckas all day and live like a king! And if the pigs start fucking with me, I can claim racial profiling and get off scott free! Oh shit, wait. I'm the wrong race.
I hope the Mayans were right.
